Family Fun in Anaheim in August 2015

Top 3 Things to Do This Summer

In fact, the countless attractions and events are some of the reasons Anaheim is such a popular tourist destination. With Disneyland nearby and other attractions around the city, Anaheim has plenty of things to do for family friendly fun. For those who visit Anaheim and those who live there, it is not a question of if there are things to do but a question of what things to do. The list of events is long this year, so please consider the following options to get started on planning for August 2014.

La Habra Corn Festival1. La Habra Corn Festival

Every summer during the first full weekend of August, La Habra welcomes residents and visitors to its annual Corn Festival. This year's event takes place on TBA. For the event, El Centro Park is transformed into a magical attraction for people of all ages. There are carnival rides, which are especially fun for children, and numerous booths are set up throughout the area. Every year, there is also a fun-filled parade to watch. This is not just any parade. The Corn Festival parade is noted as one of the largest daytime parades in the entire Orange County area. In fact, many local and regional groups are invited to take part in the parade at the Corn Festival, making it a great way for businesses, organizations and other groups to mix and mingle with the community. With food, fun, games and other live entertainment, the Corn Festival is a great way to kick off the month.

2. San Clemente Street Faire and Fiesta

The community also comes out for the San Clemente Street Faire and Fiesta. This raucous event features three stages, all of which host ongoing entertainment throughout the duration of the fiesta. The acts vary but many are catered to families. In addition to the performances, the Street Faire and Fiesta has a wide range of booths set up along Avenue Del Mar in San Clemente. These booths feature food, products and other services from local and regional vendors. Visitors can also try out the contests and games at the fiesta, which are provided by local non-profit organizations. With so much to do, families can spend the whole day at the San Clemente Street Faire and Fiesta, taking in the atmosphere and finding fun activities for everyone. If this sounds like fun, be sure to stop by the second Sunday in August. The event starts at 9 AM and closes down at 7 PM.

Rancho Mission Viejo Rodeo3. Rancho Mission Viejo Rodeo

When most people think of rodeos, Southern California is not the first thing that comes to mind. However, one thing Orange County does know is how to put on a good show. Therefore, the Rancho Mission Viejo Rodeo is a must to attend with fun and excitement for the entire family. While the Rancho Mission Viejo Rodeo may not be the best known rodeo, it is by far the richest. With so much funding, the Rancho Mission Viejo Rodeo is a nonstop spectacle. The two day affair features all the best rodeo events including saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, steer wrestling and tie-down roping in addition to the ever-popular bull riding competition. There is a team roping competition along with other fun events and activities during the rodeo. The Rancho Mission Viejo Rodeo is held in San Juan Capistrano on La Pata Road. The 2015 two day extravaganza is on August 22-23. This makes the Rancho Mission Viejo Rodeo a great event to cap off the summer before getting back to the grind with school and work.

If these three things to do are not enough, there are other events in and around Anaheim to consider this summer. Whether the family heads to Disneyland or makes a stop at Angels Stadium, there is something for the entire family in Orange County. Plus, many of these summer activities are reasonably priced to make family travel enjoyable and affordable this year. Every month is fantastic in Southern California but summer 2013 looks to be the best yet. If you are not convinced, be sure to pick from these exciting activities and find out for yourself.
